Bips goes international with 'Singularity' | Total Filmy

Tinsel villa's dusky beauty, Bipasha Basu bagged her first international project titled 'Singularity' to be directed by English-French director, Roland Joffe, whose films 'The Killing Fields' and 'The Mission' were nominated for Oscars.

Ecstatic Bipasha shared her happiness on the micro-blogging site, Twitter, “Very happy to let u all know that am doing my first english language film, SINGULARITY.Its rolland joffe's film opp. Josh Hartnett.”
Sadly, Bipasha will not be celebrating Diwali here and will be flying to Brisbane in the first week of November.
What came as a surprise is Bipasha's encounter with Joffe. Bips luckily met Joffe at Taj Land's End Hotel in Mumbai in September, and impressed by Bips personality, Joffe offered her the role.
In 'Singularity', Bips will be portraying the role of a Maratha warrior and this lucky thespian has got only eight days for the preparation of her role that requires under water scenes and horse riding.
Elated Bipasha said, “I am not getting much of preparation time right now. I have been given just eight days to prepare for underwater scenes and horse riding...I wish I had at least a month's time for preparation.”

'Singularity' storyline
Scripted by Ajey Jhankar, 'Singularity' is a fascinating romantic story “set across two time periods and continents.”
Based on first Anglo-Maratha war of the 18th century, the movie features a British officer and his Indian lover in colonial India, and an American marine biologist and his lover, a researcher trapped in a wrecked British merchant ship.
Interestingly, the major chunk of the movie will be shot in India and rest in Australia.
Reportedly, 'Singularity', $33 million budget movie, will feature 'Sin City' star Josh Hartnett, Olga Kurylenko, Chris Pine, Christopher Egan, Shane Briant, and Bollywood star Abhay Deol.
Interestingly, the film was announced 3 years ago as 'The Invaders', but currently, the film has undergone many alterations.
Bipasha's forthcoming projects
Besides 'Singularity', the 31-year-old thespian has two forthcoming projects, 'Dum Maaro Dum' and Abbas Mustan's 'Players'.
Presently, the actor has completed all pending endorsements and assignments, and is gearing up for the international project.
The shoot of 'Singularity' will begin in third week in November and will end in December. The movie is scheduled for release in 2011.
All the best Bipasha.
