Aamir backs out, gives Kiran the center stage | Total Filmy

Tinsel villa's Mr. Perfectionist, Aamir Khan knows the way to hog the limelight.

It was Aamir who set the trend of showing his films', 'Jaane Tu... Ya Jaane Na', 'Peepli Live', 'Ghajini', '3 Idiots' and 'Taare Zameen Par', theatrical trailer to the media before they hit the theatres and even answered to medias query.

Now, Aamir is back in limelight along with wife Kiran Rao as he planned to back out from the launch party of 'Dhobi Ghat' on Nov. 17 giving an opportunity to his wife to confront the media and make her own stand in the industry as the film is her directorial debut.

Kiran Rao's marketing strategy to promote 'Dhobi Ghat'
Apparently, Aamir Khan will not be present at the first look launch of 'Dhobi Ghat'.

May be, Aamir changed his decision after his tiff with 'Peepli Live' director Anusha Rizvi, who alleged that Khan is trying to take away the film's credit and boost his reputation.

For her directorial debut, Mrs. Khan has adopted a new promotional strategy. She has planned to send postcard to media till the film gets released.

Through the postcards, she will be sharing her own experiences, hurdles and special moments while shooting the film, and interestingly she will be writing all the all the post cards.

The first postcard to be sent is an invitation for the launch of 'Dhobi Ghat's' first look.

The excerpts from the invitation are, “What started five years ago as a vague idea is now a 100 minute reality. And I'm most excited (and very nervous!) as I now invite you to the First Look of my first film, “Dhobi Ghat”.

I look forward to your support, so please do come and share this important moment with me, on 17th November at 12 noon...”

A source familiar with the matter said, “Each and every card will be personally written by Kiran. The film based in Mumbai is about the city, its essence and the people of Mumbai. So each card will have a picture about Mumbai.

“The notes will also have Kiran's personal experiences of the city. These postcards will be dispatched to a select list every week until the release of the film.

“The first batch of postcards will be invites for previews of the film and they will commence Nov. 17.”
