New girl in Salman's life? | Total Filmy

New girl in Salman's life? | Total Filmy

It seems that the 'Dabangg' Khan has fallen in love all over again. Grapevine has it that Salman Khan, one of the most eligible bachelors of the tinsel villa, has found love again.

And the “new girl”, Hazel, a British model, is Salman's co-star in 'Bodyguard'. Reportedly, the duo has been adoring bike-rides and spending quality time with each other, before and after the shooting schedules on the sets.

Post his splitsville with Katrina Kaif, last year, the A-list actor had been maintaining a low profile about his love life and wanted to brood over his filmy career.

SALMAN KHAN GETS HIS LOVE?
Tagged as the godfather of the newcomers, speculations are rife about Salman's budding off-screen chemistry with Hazel.

A source spilled the beans, “Most new girls in the industry get quite intimidated by Salman, but Hazel has not shown any such signs. Salman and she hit it off like a house on fire. It now seems that they are more than just good friends.”

This is not the first time when Salman has been linked with an actress. Earlier, there were rumors about his clandestine affairs with Mahek Chahal, Bruna Abdullah and Kangana Ranaut, besides, his love lock-ups with Aishwarya Rai, Katrina Kaif, Somy Ali and Sanjeeta Bijlani.

SALMAN TURNS RESCUER
The 45-year-old thespian, recently, turned a rescuer for his brother-in-law, Atul Agnihotri, during the shoot of Siddique Lal's 'Bodyguard'.

Reportedly, the team of 'Bodyguard' was shooting for some solo scenes with Kareena Kapoor in Pune, when the Kapoor lasso fell ill. Nearly 200 people were kept on hold for shooting that day.

“The shooting had come to a halt since Kareena fell ill and Salman wasn't expected till much later. A lot of time would have been wasted and nearly 200 people would have been left hanging if it weren't for Salman's quick thinking,” said an industry insider.

Salman, who was in Jaipur for a charitable event, was immediately buzzed. In order to save the schedule from getting dispersed, Salman took the same helicopter back, from Jaipur to Pune. He asked the captain to land at the Symbiosis Institute of Management, in order to save time.

“Salman bhai saved a day's shooting for us after Kareena fell ill and was advised two days' bed rest. We were canning a song that day and so I didn't have a supporting cast to fall back on.

“I requested Salman bhai to return early and he was back by the time we'd finished lunch. And we shot some solo portions with him,” confirmed the 'Bodyguard' producer, Atul Agnihotri.

Dar Ke Aage Jeet Hai--Salman Khan | Total Filmy

Dar Ke Aage Jeet Hai--Salman Khan | Total Filmy

“Dar Ke Aage Jeet Hai” is the 'Dabangg' Khan's latest tagline. Confused? Well, these are the lines Salman will be heard quoting while endorsing PepsiCo's Mountain Dew.

Believe it or not, Salman Khan is the first celebrity brand ambassador zeroed in by the carbonated soft drink company, since eight years of its existence in the market.

Mountain Dew commercials are basically known for the daredevil stunts and adventure quotient in it. But with penciling in Salman Khan, the company has tried to make it big through its budget and catering large consumers.

Interestingly, Salman was the initial choice for the endorsement, contemplating his huge fan following, and the pivotal fact that his popularity is not only confined to the urban areas, but in the remote areas as well.

SALMAN OUTSHINES HIS FEARS
Shot by the adventure ad filmmaker, Bob Gordon, the commercial features Salman Khan jumping from 10,000 feet from one of the highest mountain peaks of New Zealand donning a wingsuit.

Wingsuit Flying is one of the upcoming adventure sports, where a person jumps through the air attiring a jumpsuit and pulls the parachute's ripcord before landing on the ground.

Revealing his combat, Khan said, “Everyone is afraid of something or the other at some point of his or her life. But if you try to run away from fear, you’d be tired and eventually fear will win. So the best way to overcome fear is to face it, run through it because Darr Ke Aage Jeet Hai.

“The new Mountain Dew commercial truly brings alive this mantra and I love the high action imagery associated with the campaign. We shot in New Zealand with director; Bob Gordon who is an expert in adventure sports led ad films. It was fascinating to see all the stuff happening; the TVC almost looks like a very large budget action film.”

The 45-second commercial is all set to hit the small screens tomorrow, while the big screen commercial is of 60 seconds.

MARKETING DIRECTOR'S TAKE ON THE MOUNTAIN DEW COMMERCIAL
With a motive of reaching the nationwide consumers this summer, flavored drinks category marketing director of Pepsi India, Alpana Titus said, “We are excited to unveil this year’s campaign for Mountain Dew, with our first ever Brand Ambassador, Salman Khan. This campaign takes the idea of ‘Darr Ke Aage Jeet Hai’ to the next level.

“The concept and the action are larger than life and never seen before in India. With this exciting campaign and Salman as our brand ambassador, we look forward to another blockbuster summer for brand Mountain Dew, which has been growing at a rapid pace for the last three years.”

Arbaaz shares pleasantries with Ash | Total Filmy

Arbaaz shares pleasantries with Ash | Total Filmy

If Bollywood was parted into groups in 2010, then 2011 seems to be an year of building bridges as in the recent award ceremonies, many famed stars were spotted extending olive branch to their frenemies.

What came as a surprise of late is that Arbaaz Khan was spotted sharing pleasantries with the Bachchan bahu and Salman's ex beau, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan at the Filmfare nomination bash. Palpably, this stunned everyone.

Besides, Bollywood King Khan, Shahrukh, Salman's big time rival, was spotted hugging Arbaaz Khan. Though Salman's reaction could not be captured, it's not hard to guess.

Interestingly, Arjun Rampal, who had changed his group sometime ago, also mended fences with SRK.

SALMAN SNUBBED VIVEK
The 'Dabangg' hunk, Salman, who claimed to have forgiven Vivek in an interview with a mag, 'Hello Delhi', seems to have rejuvenated his conflicts with Vivek.

Surprisingly, at a recent award function, Salman ignored Vivek Oberoi, his wife and mother, sitting in the first row, and greeted the other people sitting next to them. However, Arbaaz was spotted shaking hands with Vivek.

It seems Salman is not ready to apologise Vivek. But don't you think that Salman is over-reacting now?

WILL SALMAN BEFRIEND SRK?
Besides all the patch-ups, the pivotal patch-up is between SRK and Salman.

Interestingly, Salman has called SRK's apology, on KJo's chat show 'Koffee With Karan', fake.

“I felt Shahrukh’s apology came only to increase TRPs of Karan’s show,” said Salman.

Though it's not known whether they will actually mend the fences, if it does, then their pairing might turn out to be a tough challenge to the other thespians.

John to romance Chitrangada in Shrishti Arya's next | Total Filmy

John has been paired with many A-list actresses on-screen before, but this time the 'Dostana' hunk will be seen pairing up with the 'Hazaaron Khwaishein Aisi' famed star, Chitrangada Singh in Shrishti Arya's next.

Reportedly, this untitled project will be a romantic-comedy, directed by debutant director Kapil Sharma, son of the well-known astronaut, Rakesh Sharma.

MORE ABOUT THE UNTITLED PROJECT
Interestingly, Shrishti Arya, the producer of the film, loved the script of the film and gave a go-ahead.

The untitled project is a romantic-comedy which will have four parallel romantic stories, where John and Chitrangada form the first pair, while the other three are yet to be decided.

It's believed that John will portray the role of a playboy, and the movie is urbane.

Kapil Sharma, who has worked as an assistant director in projects like 'Drona', 'Being Cyrus' and 'The Darjeeling Limited', a Hollywood flick, felt that nobody else could have portrayed the playboy image aptly, except John.

KAPIL TALKS ABOUT THE MAIN LEAD
Commenting about his main lead, Kapil said, “More than just being a romcom, it is an urban, hip and cool take on today's trends and culture. I think there can't be anyone better than John who represents that bracket.

“He not only has international good looks, but is also a Mumbai boy.”

Regarding Chitrangada, the to-be director said, "I find her very sophisticated and gorgeous, but equally in tune with her culture and values.

“It's an exciting combination to have these two actors in the same film. Both John and Chitrangada play characters that are extremely real and easy to identify with.”

ABOUT CHITRANGADA SINGH
Born on March 28, 1976, Chitrangada Singh started her career with modeling, and has various ads to her credit like ICICI Bank, Alukkas Jewellery, Aliva snacks, Taj Mahal tea, and Garnier.

Later, Chitrangada took a break in acting from 2005-2008, and made a comeback with Onir's 'Sorry Bhai!'.

The 34-year-old actress will soon be seen in Sudhir Mishra's 'Dhruv'.

Presently, Bollywood is ruled by the two “K” factor hotties, Katrina Kaif and Kareena Kapoor, and no doubt, their increasing fame is getting the newcomers and the existing actresses on their nerves.

Reportedly, the Kapoor lassie, Kareena has replaced Priyanka Chopra in an international brand ad.

According to the sources, the global brand wanted to rope in PC as the brand ambassador, and so, they conducted a survey to find out which actors is a better choice. And, the result was Kareena Kapoor.

Kareena gets her third international ad
Interestingly, Kareena, who is quite popular among the “international brand circuit”, has finally got the third international ad.

The eminent brands to her credit are Pepsi, Lux Beauty Products, Airtel, Citizen Eco Drive Watches, Nutrisse Garnier, Peter England, Elle Breast Cancer Campaign, Dulux Paints, Boro Plus, Vivel Di Wills, Globus, Head and Shoulders, and Anne French.

Tagged as the youth's inspiration, Bebo worked diligently to create her impact internationally.

As quoted by Mid-Day, a little birdie said, “She endorses 14 brands and is way ahead of the others. The brand was also looking for iconic, aspirational and youth centric elements that are signature Kareena. She is a global face today.

“A special team of technicians including make-up, hair and photographer are coming from London to shoot the ad with her. She shoots for her ads at night and the day is kept for the film's shooting."

I guess the other actors have to buck up.

Bebo zeroed in for six projects in 2011
Besides getting busy with the brand endorsements, Bebo has been penciled in, with all the Khans, for six projects, worth nearly 300 crore, in 2011.

As per the latest reports, the 30-year-old thespian has been roped in for 'Bodyguard' with Salman Khan, 'Ra.One' with Shahrukh Khan, Reema Kagti's untitled film with Aamir Khan, 'Agent Vinod' with her longtime beau, Saif Ali Khan, 'Short Term Shaadi' with Imran Khan, and 'Angoor' remake with SRK again.

Long way to go Kareena. Good luck!

'Agneepath' gets bold with Piggy Chops and Duggu | Total Filmy

'Agneepath' gets bold with Piggy Chops and Duggu | Total Filmy

Waiting to see something bold and exciting? Then your wait will be over after the release of 'Agneepath' remake as Karan Johar, the producer of the film, promises it to be steamy, and bold with Hrithik Roshan and Priyanka Chopra as the main lead.

Reportedly, sources have tagged 'Agneepath' as an adult film as Piggy Chops and Duggu will be seen getting up and close with each other.

The duo had last worked together in the blockbuster film, 'Krrish'.

As quoted by NDTV, Karan said, “The new 'Agneepath' is first and foremost an intense love story. There was love between Priyanka and Hrithik in 'Krrish'.

“But here we want an unparalleled chemistry between them. You've never seen Priyanka and Hrithik get so intense with anyone before.”

About the 'Agneepath' remake
Directed by KJo's former assistant Karan Malhotra, this remake version of 'Agneepath' claims to be much different from the original one.

The 1990 film 'Agneepath' features Amitabh Bachchan, Mithun Chakraborty, Madhavi, and Neelam Kothari. While in the remake version, Mithun's character has been completely chopped off.

Surprisingly, Bollywood's Munnabhai, Sanjay Dutt and veteran actor Rishi Kapoor will be seen portraying villainous roles in the film. Zarina Wahab will enact the role of Hrithik's mother.
Clarifying about PC's role in the film, Karan said, “All I can tell you at the moment is that Priyanka is not playing a nurse like Madhavi in the original and and she is not playing a prostitute either.

“Yes, we have built on the original relationship between Amit uncle and Madhaviji.”

'Agneepath' an adult film?
As quoted by NDTV, a little birdie said, “Hrithik and Priyanka do not believe in half measures. If they have to express strong emotions and passion, they will go the whole hog in 'Agneepath'.

“If in 'Krrish' they romanced innocently keeping the kids in mind, their togetherness in 'Agneepath' will be for adults only.”

This is a life-defining moment--Duggu | Total Filmy

This is a life-defining moment--Duggu | Total Filmy

It was quite an emotional and ecstatic day for the Roshans yesterday when Hrithik unveiled his wax statue at the Madame Tussauds in London.

Presently, Hrithik is the fifth Bollywood star to have a statue in the museum, after Amitabh Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Shahrukh Khan, and Salman Khan.

Interestingly, the elated thespian was finding it hard to digest the fact, and dedicated this honor to his family.

Hrithik was accompanied by his wife Sussanne Roshan, his two sons, Hrehaan Roshan (5) and Hridhaan Roshan (3), his mother Pinky Roshan, father Rakesh Roshan, and his grandfather J Om Prakash.

After unveiling the wax statue, Duggu said, “It feels surreal to be standing in front of a life-like image of your own self. Now I know what it means, when it is said that this is for posterity.

“This is a life-defining moment, the family is here with me, everyone, grandfather, grandma, my parents, my children, my sister and my wife."

Hrithik's wax statue took four months
It took nearly four months to build up Hrithik's wax statue worth £150,000. Many British sculptors were roped in to shape up the statue.

His face and body measurements were taken to have the exact replica of the star. Even his eye color was matched.

Posed in a 'Dhoom 2' look, Duggu's effigy attires a short sleeve less shirt open, showcasing his well-toned physique, and blue jeans.

Duggu experience at Madam Tussauds 25 years ago
Surprisingly, Hrithik Roshan had initially visited Madame Tussauds 25 years ago, as a child.

Commenting about his experience, Duggu said, “I was nine years old, holidaying in London with my family when my grandfather and I went to Madame Tussauds. We had to stand in line for 45 minutes and while I was jumping up and down with impatience and excitement, my grandfather waited patiently.

"I even told him that we should go and come back the next day but my grandfather waited till we could enter Madame Tussauds. Today I feel he's like that excited child I was.”

Hrithik's Bollywood career
Hrithik's Bollywood career has not been so famous in the recent past as he's still awaiting for a blockbuster. But his acting prowess has, indeed, been appreciated by his fans.

Some of Hrithik's famous hits are 'Kaho Naa... Pyar Hai', 'Fiza', 'Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham', 'Koi... Mil Gaya', 'Lakshya', 'Krrish', 'Dhoom 2', 'Jodhaa Akbar', and 'Guzaarish'.

Presently, the actor is working on two projects, 'Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara', and 'Agneepath'.

Congratulations Hrithik!

I don’t make them (films) for Oscars—Aamir Khan | Total Filmy

Apprehensive about ‘Peepli Live’s’ ousted from the top nine shortlisted films in the Foreign Language Film category in the 83rd Academy Awards, the producer of the film, Aamir Khan commented that though he is upset with the ousted, he is happy that they represented India.

Believe it or not, ‘Peepli Live’ was the only film representing India, out of a list of 27 films, which even included ‘Raajneeti’ and ‘Udaan’.

As quoted by The Times Of India, Aamir said, “I came to know that 'Peepli Live' is out of Oscars. I am of course sad about it. But, I am happy that we represented India and we were one among the world's best 60 films which were sent to Oscars. We are disappointed and sad.”

I never made films for Oscars--Aamir
Palpably, Mr. Perfectionist had huge expectations with this low budgeted film, especially after his earlier films ‘Lagaan’ and ‘Taare Zameen Par’ missed the Oscars.

Clarifying his style of making films, he said that he never made films for Oscars or any other awards; rather he appreciates the opinion of audience, critics and media.

“I don't make them for Oscars, neither for any other awards. I make films for the audience.

“I value whatever response I get from the audience, critics and media. Oscars, Cannes, Berlin Festival - they are like platforms where international audience comes to know about our films. If you win there, more people watch them,” added Aamir.

Directed by debutant director Anusha Rizvi, ‘Peepli Live’ is an Indian comic satire showcasing farmer suicides and the role of media and political parties in it.
