While the summers are in, nothing deterred the spirit of tri-city residents from being a part of the weekly street event Raahgiri on Sunday morning at the New Lake, Sector 42, Chandigarh. From kids to senior citizens, everyone participated in various fun activities including yoga, aerobics, Zumba, dancing session, badminton, hula-hoop, skating and games.
The poster-making and slogan writing competitions were the highlight of the event. More than 100 people, including children, participated in it. The theme was to share their opinion about Raahgiri or any other important issue in the form of slogan or drawing. Mankirat Sandhu (8), Sanghamitra Maithani (10) and Kinjal Chandel (10) were declared as winners. In addition, there were dance and singing performances by the students of Theatre Age, a local NGO.
