Finally, the 'Wanted' director Prabhu Deva said “yes” to direct a film for ace filmmaker, Sanjay Leela Bhansali, and this time, it won't be art or romantic story, it will be an action-packed film.
The film will cast Akshay Kumar and a top B-town actress, and is slated to go on floors next year.
Interestingly, Prabhu has also signed a film with Amitabh Bachchan's home production, featuring Abhishek Bachchan in the lead.
Confirming the news, the 37-year-old multi-talented star revealed, “Well, I am in talks with various production houses. But the first project to start will be produced by Sanjay Leela Bhansali. We hope to begin filming next year.
“In fact, a clearer picture will emerge in a week or two from now. Akshay Kumar will head the cast of this film."
Apparently, Bhansali had earlier flown to Chennai to discuss the script and other details with Prabhu.
At that time, the elated Prabhu said, “I was so moved and touched when a director like Bhansali came down to Chennai to meet me. I have always loved the films he has made and is a big fan of him. He is so humble and we had discussion on the project but it is only now that I have given the green signal.”
When questioned about the developments in 'Wanted 2', Deva replied, “Oh, I would love to direct it and am also waiting for it to happen.”
Will Prabhu and Bhansali combo work? Let's wait and watch.
